So its all been a little quiet on here recently but lots has been going on… in fact the last couple of weeks have been a little bit hectic in general life! We moved house from Orewa, up to lovely Warkworth, to live in a beautiful house in the woods. It used to be the Warkworth Photographers studio, so feeling pretty inspired waking up here every day!
I have finally got all the boxes unpacked, internet connected, and am super excited to share this gorgeous maternity shoot from last week with Shana & Dan.
I first met with Shana & Dan a few days before their maternity shoot, to have a chat about outfits, and ideas for their session, We decided to do the shoot at their home in Orewa. The light was just stunning there, and they had just finished setting up the nursery which was looking lovely. They were both very keen for their shoot to be as relaxed as possible, which I love, and it really suits that at home look.
Shana looked stunning as Mummy-to-be. At 32 weeks, she still has such a neat little bump and was absolutely glowing!!
We chose 4 different outfits for her to wear; a lingerie style with silk dressing gown, a casual dress, and to finish, jeans, simple top and a chunky cosy cardigan. We wanted Shana to be comfortable and all these looks suited the at-home location.
I asked Shana a couple of questions about their experience... here is what she had to say...
How was your experience during your session?
"Dan and I both found it was a lot of fun. Dan made it light hearted and made me laugh a lot when I needed to smile. My favourite part was being able to include Betsy (the dog)"
Did you take photos with any significant items that are special to you and your family, or props that show things you love to do?
"Yes, we took photos with our puppy Betsy, and with a cardigan my late Mother had knitted."
What’s one piece of advice you would give to other expecting mothers for the session?
"Get your make-up done before hand, be prepared with what clothes you feel comfortable/look good in, and most importantly- have fun!"
Here are a few of the beautiful photos we captured... can wait to meet the little man in a few weeks!!
